New CMS Report: The Nordic NATO Enlargement
Sweden’s and Finland’s membership of NATO is changing Danish security and defence policy. The NATO enlargement increases Danish security and provides new opportunities for Nordic defence cooperation. At the same time, Denmark is challenged by the fundamental shift that the enlargement entails for NATO and the Nordic countries.
In this new CMS report “The Nordic NATO Enlargement: Defence and Security Policy Implications for Denmark” CMS Director, Dr. Kristian Søby Kristensen, and Academic Officer, Dr. Niels Byrjalsen, analyse how the NATO enlargement affect the Nordic countries’ defence and security policy situation and cooperation. Based on the analysis, the report highlights the most important challenges and opportunities for Denmark brought about by the NATO enlargement.
