New CMS Report: European Perspectives on the Global Return of Nuclear Weapons
The use of nuclear weapons has returned to World politics after several decades. President Putin's many references to the Russian military's ability to use nuclear weapons have created fear among the populations of Europe. The fear, which for over a generation has been almost forgotten, now makes new demands on the decision-makers.
The new CMS Report: “European Perspectives on the Global Return of nuclear weapons” analyzes what the return of the nuclear threat as an instrument of power means to European security. Furthermore, it sheds new light on how European powers speak regarding the emerging nuclear order, what the actual problem is for Europe, and what the future debates over the nuclear order might be. The report is authored by Military analyst Alexander Høgsberg Tetzlaff and Researcher Cornelia Baciu.
