New CMS Background Paper: The Southern Flank – Security Challenges and Europe’s Southern Border

A number of interconnected problems that arise from Europe's southern neighbouring region challenge Europe. Irregular migration, international terrorism and crime as well as political and social instability form a complex of problems that is a long-term strategic challenge for European and Danish decision-makers.

The new CMS Background Paper: “The Southern Flank – Security Challenges and Europe’s Southern Border” unfolds the problems arising from the South seen from a security and defence policy perspective, and it presents the key challenges, actors, efforts and potential solutions.
