New background paper: New Military Tensions in the North Atlantic and Arctic Region

The Arctic and North Atlantic are important regions for both Russia and NATO, and we are witnessing an increasing fight between the two. Investments in new military bases, aircraft and submarines have increased Russia’s ability to operate in the region. USA and NATO fear that the Arctic and North Atlantic have become a military strategic battleground, where Russia will be able to hit NATO target in a time of crisis.

The background paper “New Military Tensions in the North Atlantic and Arctic Region” gives an overview of the new tensions in the region and both the political and security challenges that follow.
