Lecture: Armed forces’ role in Danish counter-terrorism
Should Denmark to a larger degree include the armed forces in assisting the police’s counter-terrorism operations?
This question will form the basis for a lecture at Centre for Public Regulation and Administration by Marc Schack. The presentation will be based on research made at Center for Military Studies for Schack’s upcoming report on the relation between police and armed forces in counter-terrorism strategies.
Here a legal perspective is applied on the Danish system for military assistance to the police, and a comparative analysis is made between Denmark, Norway, United Kingdom and France. The comparison aims to bring forward which choices have formed the Danish model and conclusions be supplemented with more practical and political reflections.
The lecture takes place at The Faculty of Law at University of Copenhagen November 3rd 2 pm. to 4 pm.
