Katja Lindskov Jacobsen participated in a meeting hosted by G7++FOGG

On 11-12 December, senior researcher Katja Lindskov Jacobsen participated in a meeting hosted by G7++ Friends of the Gulf of Guinea (G7++FOGG). The meeting was held in Lagos, Nigeria and gathered a number of high-level policy representatives from the region as well as from external states and institutions.  

The aim of the meeting was to discuss the current maritime security status of the Gulf of Guinea and to define future multilateral initiatives to improve the security of the region. One of the current maritime security challenges in the Gulf of Guinea is piracy; other issues mentioned were IUU fishery, migration and smuggling.
