Henrik Breitenbauch joins IISS High-Level Expert Group on COVID-19

Henrik Breitenbauch, Director of the Centre for Military Studies, participates by invitation to the high-level expert group on ”International Order and Great-Power Politics in the age of COVID-19” organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) and the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF). The coronavirus pandemic not only constitutes a civil public health crisis but simultaneously carries vast and long-lasting implications for international order, stability and security. The project pursues a multidisciplinary approach that brings together practitioners and experts to analyse and mitigate these developments.

The expert group’s work is part of a joint IISS study on the “Geopolitical Implications of the Covid-19 Pandemic for European Defence”. The first meeting will take place in September and the expert group’s work will continue throughout autumn and early 2021. The project feeds into a report to be published in February 2021.
