Clear priorities in the government's security policy?
The newly formed Danish VLAK-Government just published its political program, in which a new security strategy is set to be launched in the spring of 2017. In an analysis at Altinget.dk, Director at CMS, Henrik Breitenbauch points out that the new strategy must address the growing need for coordination and conjoining between diplomacy, military, development and stabilization as well as the increasingly blurred lines between national and international security challenges regarding terror, migration, week states, intelligence, rule of law etc.
The proposed security policy in the policy program has the potential to change the way we conduct security policy in Denmark. Nonetheless, this potential rather concerns form than content (for now) since we still need to see clear political prioritization and visions from The Government.
