Seminar: 'The Danish/Greenlandic Perspective on Arctic Security Issues'
What is the risk of conflict created by unresolved territorial claims? Or by the opening of new sea routes and the competition for resources previously locked under ice? How does this affect the role and responsibilities of the Danish Armed Forces and the defence planning in the arctic region? And in what areas could the Kingdom of Denmark and other arctic nations, e.g. Canada, benefit from cooperation?
In association with the Embassy of Canada and the Canadian National Security Program's visit to Denmark, Centre for Military Studies hosts a seminar addressing these Arctic security issues.
Panel debate:
Ulrik Pram Gad (Post.doc, Centre for Advanced Security Theory)
Hans Mouritzen (Dr. scient. pol., Danish Institute for International Studies)
Mikkel Vedby Rasmussen (Professor MSO, Centre for Military Studies)
Registration by e-mail is required by noon Friday 21 March 2014 to cas@ifs.ku.dk.
